Lower School Division News: July 15, 2024

Dear Lower School Parents

The literary or philosophical meaning of life coming full circle often means completing a cycle and returning to the beginnings of something. In many situations, that something is wonderful. Such is the case for me. It is simply wonderful to be serving as your Lower School head once again. Beginnings have always been exciting to me. There’s a certain thrill that attends what awaits, whether it’s the changing of the seasons, a brand-new school year or the exciting preparations deemed necessary for a new project or position. I never seem to tire of that first time feeling – the delight of untapped possibility.  

We specialize in possibility at The Winston School. When our students learn how their brains work and begin to understand the ways that they learn best, they become deeply involved in their own education. They are willing to take risks, and move beyond their mistakes. We are in the business of growing life-long learners at The Winston School. Our students are curious, tenacious, and creative; they are question-askers and self-advocates.  As people who see the world differently, their perspectives and solutions are unique and innovative. We are an inclusive community where being kind and open-minded is the default; our students are engaged and compassionate.
